It is important to ensure our great personal health, specially through the food we eat or drinks we consume. Consumption of greens, or should I say fibers is very crucial for our health system as you will see in the following paragraphs.
There are certain food that contain high content of dietary fiber like vegetables, fruits, grains and meat. Fibers are basically parts of a plant which cannot be digested. Perhaps it is time to check your dietary habits and make sure there is enough fiber into it. Lets face it, without dietary fiber we would have a digestive health, more specifically bowel movement.
In order to have a healthy bowel movement, fiber needs to be present in the diet and there are reasons why. There are two main components in fibers, the soluble and insoluble parts.
Soluble fibers are what is easily absorbed by the system, and prevents any constipation and diarrhea that may come to happen. Insoluble fibers are what helps you to move your bowel if constipated, hemorrhoids or incontinence. The secret to fiber is to take with the right amount of fluid with it.
Knowing that you have already checked your dietary habits, here I am to present you a drink with fiber. It is a Spinach Pineapple smoothie, and cleansing it is. Filled with fiber and great taste, it is great morning drink. Wakes you up in a couple of seconds as soon as the ginger taste hits you.
Unlike my other recipes, there are no quantities in the ingredients list. The reason behind that is the items have variable quantity which can affect the flavor of the drink. Perhaps you have a preference for a more earthy flavor and you decide to add more spinach than the quantity suggest. My personal taste is for more fruity drinks. Because of that it was decided the quantities are to your taste. Be curious and adventurous with the ingredients.
Be cautious with the fiber intake as well. If you have a healthy bowel movement, than you should reduce the consumption of this drink. It is a nice start for a diet filled with fiber.
Cleansing Spinach Pineapple Drink
- Spinach, fresh
- Pineapple, freshly diced, canned or frozen
- Juice (lemonade, orange or any of your favorites)
- Ginger, peeled
Wash the spinach well, strain it and add it to the blender together with the rest of the ingredients. Ensure all the ingredients are properly blended and the taste if perfect for you. Enjoy this nice cleansing drink early in the morning before your big meal.
